Intermediate team lose in Division Two

March 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

The Intermediate team were defeated by Aughavas in the second game of the 2009 Leitrim Senior League Division 2.

Inspired by former Leitrim inter-county star Fintan McBrien, Aughavas dominated proceedings in the first half. A goal by Aughavas just before half time gave them a commanding 5 point half-time lead.

Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher began the second half well and had cut the gap to two points with five minutes left. However a second Aughavas goal ended any prospect of completing the comeback and they ran out deserving five point winners on a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-8.

Team: Daragh Keaney, Sean McLoughlin, Enda Gallagher, Stephen Sweeney, Sean McManus, Conor O’Rourke, Niall Clancy, Michael Maguire, Barry McDermott, Padraig Sweeney, J.J. McDermott, Fergal Clancy, Diarmuid Clancy, Declan Sweeney, Shane McLoughlin. Subs: Joe Keaney for Dara Keaney, John Sheerin for Sean McManus.
